(Published Monday, March 23, 2018) Outstanding Drama Writing: The Writers Guild of America’s 2017 Emmy nomination ceremony, hosted by Emmy nominee Shonda Rhimes, included a nod for “Gossip Girls” for its portrayal of a woman’s obsession with her boyfriend’s affair with another woman.
“Gossip, in all its forms, is the story of how one person’s desire for power is turned into an epic story of love and loss,” Rhimes said at the ceremony.
“That’s what I’m so excited about for ‘Gossett’s Gossip Girl,’ a show about the power and vulnerability of women.
The stories are the stories.”
The episode, which aired on HBO, included “the best lines of the night,” according to the writers.
Rhimes was nominated for a second straight season of the show, which was renewed for a third.
The “Gossets Gossip Girls,” which is based on Rhimes’ memoir of the same name, will air its fourth season on Thursday, March 24 at 9 p.m.
ET on HBO.
“Gollum’s Girlfriend” is based off the best-selling novel by David Mitchell.
